Raynorton Motorsport's Md Firdaus Mohd Hamdan delivers another milestone for the Malaysian motorcycle as three Z15GT riders finish among the top eight.

SHAH ALAM, 19 October 2026 – Eight days. Two races. Two historic milestones. Just over a week after securing its first-ever podium, the MODENAS Z15GT has claimed its maiden victory in the PETRONAS Sprinta Pro-Am Cup at Round 7 of the PETRONAS MAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship 2026, held at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (South Track) on 18 October.

The achievement came through Raynorton Motorsport rider Md Firdaus Mohd Hamdan (#98), who was officially classified as the winner following the six-lap race.

Starting seventh on the grid, Firdaus completed the race aboard his race-prepared Z15GT, recording a total time of 8 minutes 22.674 seconds.

The official classification placed him ahead of Md Haziq Rosmaza (#15) and Md Harith Rosmaza (#5). Two competitors were excluded from the classification for technical infringements.

From P16 to P2, Then P1

The victory follows Firdaus's remarkable performance at LYL International Karting Circuit on 10 October, where he climbed from 16th on the starting grid to finish second, delivering the Z15GT's first Pro-Am podium.

Eight days later, the same rider and independent racing team went one better, securing the motorcycle's first victory in the category.

"The first podium at LYL was already a special moment for us. To follow it up with a win at Sepang is something I couldn't have imagined. This victory belongs to everyone in the team who has worked so hard to get us here," said Md Firdaus Mohd Hamdan.

A Victory Built on Teamwork

For Raynorton Motorsport, the back-to-back results represent a significant achievement for an independent Malaysian racing team competing against established machinery in the national championship.

Behind the results is the collective effort of its riders, mechanics and support personnel throughout the 2026 season.

"We've put a lot of work into this bike throughout the season. Getting our first podium was a big moment, but winning just eight days later makes it even more meaningful. I'm proud of Firdaus and everyone in the team. This is a team victory," said Syafie, Team Principal of Raynorton Motorsport.

The Sepang round also delivered encouraging results for other Z15GT competitors.

Fellow Raynorton Motorsport rider Md Amirul Affiq Ahmad Solikhin (#52) secured fifth place, while another Z15GT rider, Md Afiq Hamdan (#90), finished eighth.

The results placed three Z15GT motorcycles among the top eight officially classified finishers in the Pro-Am category.

A Milestone for MODENAS and Local Motorsports

The achievement marks another encouraging development in MODENAS' return to the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship, where the manufacturer supports four independent racing teams competing with the Z15GT.

The initiative reflects MODENAS' commitment to supporting grassroots motorsports, providing opportunities for local racing talent and strengthening the presence of Malaysian-developed motorcycles in competitive racing.
