MODENAS Drives Pro-Am Campaign at Malaysian Cub Prix 2026 Season Opener

TANGKAK, JOHOR , 26 April 2026 – Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd. (“MODENAS”), a member of the DRB-HICOM Group, marked its presence at the opening round of the recent Malaysian Cub Prix Championship 2026 in Tangkak, Johor, supporting its partner teams competing in the Pro-Am category throughout the full eight-round national season.

The season opener officially marked the start of MODENAS’ involvement in the Pro-Am category, with partner teams competing over the full national championship using the home-grown Modenas Z15GT platform.

This appearance follows MODENAS’ earlier announcement during the MODENAS Riang Raya 2026 celebration, where the company confirmed its collaboration with selected racing teams for the 2026 Malaysian Cub Prix season. The Tangkak round represents the first competitive outing for these teams, setting an early benchmark for performance, reliability and continuous learning throughout the season.

MODENAS Chief Executive Officer, Roslan Roskan, was present at the circuit, engaging directly with racing teams, riders, and the Z15GT community. His presence reflects the company’s hands-on approach to motorsports and its long-term commitment to racing development.

“This is more than just a racing programme. The Modenas Z15GT super moped was fully designed by Malaysians. Therefore, participation in the Malaysian Cub Prix allows us a unique opportunity to demonstrate and test its performance in demanding, real-world racing conditions. This will help us accelerate improvements and refinements based on direct usage and feedback,” said Roslan.

Through its Pro-Am campaign, MODENAS continues to utilise competitive racing as a practical testbed for engineering insights. Data and feedback gathered from race conditions contribute directly to ongoing enhancements in durability, handling and overall reliability, ensuring product improvements are grounded in real-world demands rather than laboratory testing alone.

In addition to track activities, the Tangkak round also saw active participation from the Z15GT rider community, including a community-led convoy organised under the Lokal Lagi Syok banner. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts among riders to foster a stronger, more connected ownership culture around the Z15GT platform.

“Our rider community plays a vital role as our everyday users, actively shaping how we understand market expectations and drive continuous improvements across our products,” he added.

As part of its long-term strategy, MODENAS continues to position its product platforms with regional relevance in mind. Integrating competitive racing with real-world engagement supports the company’s ambition to meet quality and performance standards beyond the domestic market.

“In the long term, we see opportunities for regional expansion. Initiatives like this ensure that the products we develop are aligned with the expectations of a wider and more competitive marketplace,” Roslan added.

MODENAS will continue to support its partner teams throughout the Malaysian Cub Prix 2026 season, while strengthening its technical capabilities, enhancing product competitiveness and expanding its market presence in a measured and sustainable manner.
