SHAH ALAM, 22 June 2019 – In conjunction with this year’s World Motorcycle Day, Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (“MODENAS”), a member of DRB-HICOM Berhad (DRB-HICOM) today organised a bikers’ convoy from Shah Alam to Tanjung Malim, incorporating community work, involving over 100 MODENAS owners.
Organised as part of MODENAS’ Corporate Responsibility (CR) program, this World Motorcycle Day event saw the participation of bikers from Modenas Pulsar Owner Club (“MPOC”), Dominar 400 Club Malaysia (“D4CM”) as well as Modenas Elegan Downtown (“MEDT”) as well as representatives from MODENAS and DRB-HICOM.
The convoy was flagged off from EON Glenmarie, Shah Alam and rode toward their first destination, Pusat Tahfiz Ulum Add Din in Tanjung Malim, Perak to take part in a beautification and cleaning project for the centre.
Pusat Tahfiz Ulum Add Din was founded on 17 January 2015, and today houses 62 students from ages 9 to 19 years old. Upon the convoy’s arrival at the centre, they were received by its head caretaker, Mudir Ustaz Aziz Mat Arof who briefed the group on the centre’s operations before the bikers were divided into groups to carry out various duties.
Among the activities carried out by the bikers include the cleaning-up of the centre’s surau and other facilities, and giving the centre’s main hall and pondok a new coat of varnish. The bikers also took the opportunity to meet and mingle with the kids and administrators from the centre.
MODENAS Chief Executive Officer, Roslan Roskan said that it has always been the company’s goal to organise meaningful events that involve its customers and the community through various corporate responsibility and public engagement initiatives.
“MODENAS owners are united by their joy of riding, and what better way to celebrate World Motorcycle Day than to organise a fun and meaningful ride event for them, and contribute to society at the same time. Through this convoy and CR initiative, MODENAS, together with
the various MODENAS owners groups can do our part to bring cheer and joy to those who could use a helping hand during this festive season”, said Roslan.
The day’s activity ended with lunch, before the entourage headed back to Kuala Lumpur
